Application to the Graduate Program
for Ph.D. and M.S. degrees
- Physics Graduate Admissions
Case Western Reserve University
Rockefeller Building
10900 Euclid Avenue
Cleveland, Ohio 44106-7079 USA
-
Deadline for receipt of all application material,
including letters of recommendation, is 1 February. Applications
that arrive beyond this deadline will be considered only if space in the
graduate program permits.
-
Applicants from countries that have nonconvertable
currencies -- these countries include, but are not limited to, People's
Republic of China, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, Ukraine, Ethiopia,
etc. -- may request a waiver of the application fee. Please include
a letter with your application requesting the waiver.
-
Applicants from other countries, such as the U.S.A.,
Canada, the European Union, Korea, Taiwan, etc., who cannot afford the
application fee may request a waiver. Please include a note with
your application.
-
Although the Physics GRE exam is not required, it
is very highly encouraged. Students not having taken this
exam will be at a disadvantage when their applications are considered.
-
Although all parts of the application are considered,
the most important item is the letters of recommendation. It is best
if the letters are written by faculty and mentors who know the applicant's
capabilities well.
-
If you are interested in the joint
Physics and Astronomy Ph.D. program, please indicate this on your application.
-
Please direct any questions about the graduate program
to the Director of Graduate Studies at phys_grad_dir@po.cwru.edu,
and any question about admissions to the Admissions Director at phys_admissions@po.cwru.edu.
